Amanda Gunning – Lead Stoma Care Nurse, Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital NHS Trust

Born in 1968, Mandy is married to Jason an army officer and has two daughters. Ever since becoming a nurse, Mandy wanted to be a stoma care nurse specialist. In part this was due to her father having a colostomy for colon cancer. The stoma care nurses at her hospital encouraged and supported her in realising this dream.

Mandy became involved with the Colostomy Association in 2006. After meeting with the late Bob Buckley (who was a trustee at the time) she offered to assist the Association with its training days and on the helpline. Mandy was invited to become a trustee in 20xx and remains more committed than ever to supporting people with a stoma.
