Vacancies at Colostomy UK

We currently have the following vacancies at Colostomy UK. Please see below for information about the roles.

Trustee

We are looking to recruit new trustees to support the next stage of our growth.

As a trustee at Colostomy UK, you will play a critical role as part of our board.

We know that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented at board level, and we are particularly keen to receive applications from people of colour, people with disabilities, hidden conditions and neurodiversity, people from disadvantaged backgrounds and people who identify as being LGBTQIA+ so that we have better representation to help develop our work appropriately and support all communities in our society.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Passion for improving the lives of people with stomas.
  • You’ll hopefully bring experience or awareness in one or more of the following: charity accounts, fundraising best practice, the charity sector, or our operating environment. Just as importantly, you’ll have the enthusiasm and openness to take part in training and induction to build your knowledge across all of these areas
  • A strong commitment to the charity’s purpose and values.
  • The willingness and ability to dedicate time and effort to fulfil your trustee responsibilities – be generous with your support, offer your skills, expertise, and networks; be willing to challenge the status quo and ask questions.
  • Relevant additional skills, experience, or expertise that can benefit the trustee role (e.g. lived experience, financial, legal, marketing, HR, campaigning, volunteering, PR etc.).

Please see the job pack for more information.

To apply

If you are passionate about making a difference and being part of an amazing team, and you have the time and dedication to serve our charity as a trustee, please send your CV and a brief statement of interest to joinourteam@colostomyuk.org by 5th September 2025. If you would like to discuss the role, you can call Libby Herbert, CEO, on 0118 228 1377 (please note she returns from annual leave on 1st September). In your cover letter, please tell us:

  • About your relevant experience
  • What skills and qualities you will bring to the role
  • Why you’d like to volunteer for us.
  • Where you saw the job advertised

Interviews will take place at our office in Winnersh or virtually. We will only contact those applicants who have been successfully selected for interview. If you require any adjustments during the interview process, please let us know.
An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this post.
