Heather talks about the classes
“When we move better, we feel better. Pilates is a fantastic way to ease into exercise as the movements are gentle, with no impact and you are reminded to take things at your own level. If you have recently had surgery your body will need time to heal, but in the fullness of time there should be nothing you cannot do normally. Pilates is a journey as we have to create mind body awareness where there perhaps wasn’t any before. Take your time, there is no rush. Classes normally start in a standing position to align your body, reset your posture and help you learn the most beneficial position for you and your posture type. After the initial warm up we transfer to the floor or a chair for a series of exercises. If any of these positions may cause you discomfort, there are always options available. The exercises will flow with stretches in between, and the class will fly by as the concentration required to perform such small movements with correct technique and engagement is phenomenal. Please try to have a towel and cushion available for the class”
About Heather:
“I’d love to have you in a Pilates class and hope to see you soon. I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 20 years, and love helping people both physically and mentally. I have a relaxed teaching style and try to make sessions as fun as possible while keeping everyone safe, and the exercises effective. In sessions I will offer lots of options for exercises enabling you to choose the option that suits you best on that day, and if there’s ever a time you need an option and I’ve not mentioned one, always ask, and I’ll happily work with you to find one you enjoy. I previously taught and assessed Pilates courses nationwide as well as writing training courses for other instructors to further their skills. At home I’m mum to a 7 year old boy and am studying Osteopathy to further develop my teaching.”
