Whether you are newly adjusting to life with a stoma, have been living with one for many years, are preparing for surgery, or are looking to regain confidence in movement and exercise, this session will provide practical guidance, reassurance and lived experience insight.
This free online session, delivered by Sarah Brown, Clinical Educational Support Worker, and Stephanie Loader, Lead Stoma Care Nurse, will cover:
- Why staying active matters when living with a stoma
- Understanding and engaging your core
- Common misconceptions around exercise and stomas
- Breathing techniques and movement guidance
- Preparing for surgery and what recovery can really look like after surgery
We’ll also be joined by someone with lived experience of living with a stoma, who will share their personal journey around exercise. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the webinar in a supportive and welcoming environment.
