Wednesday 6th August 2025.Colostomy UK has today pledged its commitment to The Ethical Partnership Pledge, publicly affirming that ethical, transparent, and inclusive collaboration is the standard we expect and uphold in all our partnerships.
The pledge is designed for all stakeholders in the delivery of public services, including commissioners, suppliers, charities, corporate partners, and sponsors, and sets out shared principles for working together in ways that protect the public interest, amplify lived experience, and deliver meaningful outcomes for communities.
By endorsing the pledge, Colostomy UK is not only embedding these principles in our own work, but also signalling to our partners, sponsors, funders, and networks that we expect:
- Fair treatment for charities and community organisations in all dealings.
- Service users to come first in every decision, above commercial or political interests.
- Openness and accountability in decision-making, funding, and reporting.
- True co-production with people who have lived experience.
- Equity, accessibility, and inclusion at every stage of service design and delivery.
- Responsible data stewardship that protects privacy and builds trust.
- Strong safeguarding and quality standards to ensure safety and dignity for all.
Liby Herbert Chief Executive of Colostomy UK, said:
“This is not just a statement about how we work. It’s a statement about how we want to work with others. We expect our partners, including corporate sponsors and suppliers, to treat us fairly and to put the people who rely on our services at the heart of every decision. The Ethical Partnership Pledge is a public commitment to those values.”
Claire Thornber, Founder of the Pledge, said:
“When organisations adopt the pledge, they’re setting a new benchmark for collaboration in public services. One where fairness, respect, and the needs of service users always come first.”
