About Heather
Heather Oakes is a highly experienced Pilates teacher with over 25 years of teaching under her belt. She has spent more than a decade as a national trainer and assessor, helping to shape and support the next generation of Pilates instructors. A former primary school teacher with a specialism in Special Educational Needs, she brings empathy, adaptability and insight to every class she leads.
Her teaching spans a wide range of specialist areas, including Pilates for dementia groups, autism-friendly sessions, hip and knee replacement rehabilitation, breast cancer recovery, pelvic floor health workshops, and more. Since 2021, she has also worked with Colostomy UK, delivering supportive Pilates sessions both online and in person.
Above all, she’s a down-to-earth teacher and believes movement should be empowering, personal, and available to everyone.
